If you’re having problems with dry or oily skin, clogged pores and acne, fine lines and wrinkles, scarring or uneven pigmentation, this is where you need to be! Here at Studio Booth, our Skincare Specialists focus on micro-treatments catered to your specific skin conditions.

In some cases, you may not have any clue what service your skin needs. Have no fear! We can schedule you a 60-minute appointment with one of our estheticians during which they will take a closer look at your skin in order to fully asses your skin conditions. From there, your esthetician will be able to prescribe to you exactly what services and products you need to reach your ultimate skin care goals.

Now you may be wondering, why are micro-treatments any better than getting a regular facial? In a basic steam facial service, you will receive a cleanse, mask, and facial massage. This is a service you should schedule for just quick maintenance, upkeep, and relaxation. If you are having specific issues with your skin, micro-treatments are going to address those problematic areas. Your skin is alive, and to keep it happy and healthy you need to exfoliate and stimulate!

Microdermabrasion, microneedling, and dermaplaning are some terms you may or may not have heard thrown around when talking skin. So, what are these treatments? What are the procedures? Benefits? How soon will you see results? Here we are going to answer all of your questions.

Microdermabrasion:

Microdermabrasion was first approved by the U.S. FDA in 1996, and since then hundreds of devices have been produced to renew overall skin tone and texture. It is a non-invasive procedure using a small suction tool with tiny crystals or a diamond bit that will gently vacuum away the outer layer of skin cells and exfoliate your skin to rejuvenate. You may have a little redness or mild tenderness after the procedure, but this should go away within hours. After, be sure to keep your skin hydrated and protected from the sun! (As you always should anyway). Microdermabrasion treatments are going to improve fine lines and wrinkles, the appearance of sun damaged skin, age spots, acne scarring and unclog those pores.

Microneedling:

Microneedling treatments have proven more effective than surgical treatments, laser surfacing, and chemical peels. This procedure uses a dermaroller with tiny needles that perforate the top layer of skin. The tool will be rolledl over the skin, focusing on your problem areas, creating “micro wounds”. These micro wounds will kick start your skin into healing mode, stimulating collagen and elastin production. The products you use will be able to penetrate your skin on a deeper level delivering more powerful results, so you are truly getting the most out of your products! Microneedling treatments have shown to improve scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, uneven skin tone, and reduce large pores.

Dermaplaning:

Similar to microdermabrasion, dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation by removing the top layer of dead skin cells. However, instead of a suction tool a small blade is used to gently shave off the superficial layer of skin as well as vellus hair, AKA peach fuzz, making this procedure well suited for drier skin types! Similar to microneedling, products you use will be able to penetrate your skin more easily since they are not being blocked by dead skin cells. Immediately after you will look more radiant, and since all of the peach fuzz is being removed your skin will feel softer than ever! The removal of the facial hair is also going to help with smooth makeup application. As always, you will need to be diligent with moisturizer and sun protection. Dermaplaning treatments are going to diminish fine lines and wrinkles and reduce the appearance of acne scars, revealing a brighter and smoother complexion.

With all of these treatments, you can expect to see results almost immediately after your procedure; However, your best results are going to show when you have a series of treatments. The number of sessions needed will be different from person to person, depending on your skins condition and your personal expectations. Our Skincare Specialists are happy and eager to help you achieve your ultimate skin care goals! So schedule yourself an appointment and be on your way to healthy, beautiful, glowing skin!
